About This Project

Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft

The group visited the Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft for a workshop using the traditional Letterpress. Working with Pea Crabtree of the Lucky Budgie Print Studio, they used the Letterpress to create contemporary campaign posters, a selection of which they took to Eastbourne Pride 2019.

View the Letterpress campaign posters in the on line gallery here.

Graffiti Workshops

Artist educator Tom Goulden held a Graffiti Workshop in which the group created  campaign slogans to be taken to Eastbourne Pride 2019.

The placards were created in a modern medium in the spirit of Pride and were inspired by the question “What’s the one thing you’d like to tell people, to help them understand you?”

Having learnt about the history of campaigning within the LGBTQ+ community, young people from the Eastbourne LGBTQ+ youth group worked together to draw up a manifesto setting out key features they wanted their youth group to have.

They then created another set of Graffiti campaign boards based on the manifesto.

Both sets of Graffiti Boards form part of the on-line exhibition here.
