LGBTQ+=Me: A skip, a hop and a jump
Young people from East Sussex, who all identify as LGBTQ+, took part in ‘LGBTQ+=Me: A skip, a hop and a jump’, a project to investigate the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in East Sussex from past generations and reflect on their own experience.
The group visited museums, galleries, archives and historic sites, and took part in creative activities where they could express their opinions and share their stories. They participated in Eastbourne Pride 2019, and conducted oral history interviews with older LGBTQ+ individuals.
The young people who took part included members of LGBT youth groups based in Crowborough, Eastbourne, Hastings, and Peacehaven, plus some independent young people who wanted to join in.
This website is an online record of the project.
