Towner Art Gallery
The group had a visit to the Towner Gallery for a bespoke look in their collection by gay artists. This was followed by an art workshop where the young people reflected on their thoughts and feelings in relation to the work.
Following training, LGBTQ+ young people interviewed 8 older members of the LGBTQ+ community about their experiences of growing up, coming out, what’s changes over their lifetimes, and what advice they would give their younger selves.
Listen to a selection of the Oral Histories the group created here.
The LGBTQ+=Me Exhibition
The project originally envisaged the the artworks to form a travelling exhibition for local schools but the pandemic situation meant that this was not feasible.
As an alternative, the team approached TechResort in Eastbourne who have digitised the art and created this online alternative.
